My favorite Youtubers to practice Chinese

Practice Chinese through YouTube

It's a known fact that YouTube can be quite helpful for learners all around the world, it's a great resource, but sometimes things are quite hard to find, that's why I have gathered some of my favorite YouTubers to share with all of you, some of them will be study and others will be to get immerse in the Chinese language.

YouTube Channels to Learn

ShuoShuo Chinese: This is the first channel I encountered in my Chinese learning journey, her channels mainly focus in helping us to sound more native and giving us a lot of different expressions for every day, she also goes in depth in some of the grammar of the HSK.

Grace Mandarin Chinese: Her Channel has a lot of variety, but the videos that I found most helpful are the ones that are about pronunciation and the sentence-final particles, in general her videos will help you clear out a lot of your doubts. Also, her recommendations are quite good, I currently use most of the podcasts she has recommended.

Mandarin with Miss Lin: Her Channel has a lot of content, she not only has video about the HSK, but she also has some videos that explain the grammar of the TOCFL. She has a series that I quite enjoy: () I  think these videos will be quite helpful for the people that are currently live in China or want to move there, because she gives real life examples of what to say in that situations.

YouTube Channels for immersion

Hannah.y: Her videos are mostly video blogs so depending on the video she sometimes talks more and others less, also I think almost every video has subtitles. In general, her videos are quite entertaining, she mostly does videos about her travels in different cities in China and about her life as a University Student.

Nana OuYang: Her videos are also video blogs, but she talks through most of the video, so they are great for immersion. I encountered her channel through her music, I think she has a beautiful voice and that's also something I like about her vlogs, because her voice is quite soft, and the speed in which she speaks is rather slow; another thing that's important to mention is that her videos have subtitles both in English and Chinese, but what's special about them is that they appear at the same time so if you don't understand something in Chinese you can easily see the translation.

莎白 Elizabeth: Her content is quite different as the previous channels, because she is a foreigner living in Taiwan, but she has been living for quite some time there, so her Chinese is actually quite great, her videos are mainly about the cultural differences she has been through in the past years, trying out new food, etc.

Finally, I hope the following resources really help you out in this journey that is learning Chinese.

What is going on with the 把 structure ?

The 把 structure The reason behind why you need he 把 structure The 把 structure is mostly used to add emphasis, the emphasis is added in the verb/result as it changes their usual position. This structure can be quite confusing, because in most western languages we don't have a structure that is remotely similar, so there is not a direct translation.  Even though this structure is quite hard, it's also really important, in my opinion it is fundamental. In addition, you will encounter this structure early on in your language journey. In my case I learned this structure in the GoChinese 400, and I'm also I'm pretty sure it's part of the HSK 3 coursework. What is the infamous 把 structure?  This structure is quite strict, from what I have learned up to now, the 把 structure never changes. It always follows its original pattern, which is : Subject+把+Object+Verb+ Result   The main uses of the 把 structure: 1)To emphasize that an action has finished Subject+把+Object+Verb+好了/忘了 ...

Study Chinese by using comics, novels, etc.

How to choose the perfect novel or comic to learn chinese  Where to buy Chinese books  To find books written in Chinese can be a bit complicated, there are a lot of websites that are usually recommended, for example: books.Taiwan, book depository, purple culture, cypress books and more;   In my case, I opted for another option because I tried buying from books.Taiwan but for a strange reason the order never went through, I think the problem was that all of the cards I tried to pay with were from Mexican banks, so I decided to buy them from Amazon, but as you can imagine there's not a lot of variety, additionally Chinese novels, comics, etc. are hard to find in that platform, because a lot of them don't appear if you look up their title in Chinese, in my experience the way I found the most books, was by searching: the title of the book (Chinese edition), and also by searching for the author instead of the book, another thing that's important to mention is that I used the U...
